The service also has a role to play ensuring that the "Pacific voice" is well articulated and represented in tobacco policies and programmes that will have a significant impact on the Pacific population.
Coordination
The service takes a leading role in the coordination of tobacco services, research and information relating to the Pacific population for its key stakeholders.
Partnerships
The service is committed to building relationships with key stakeholder groups to strengthen advocacy efforts in relation to key policy and programme developments that will impact on the Pacific population.
Health promotion
The service works alongside Pacific communities to provide health education and practical resources about the harmful effects of smoking and the benefits of being a smokefree community. Health promoting activities support Pacific communities to take a leadership role in eliminating tobacco use from the Pacific population.
Communication activities
The service actively participates in tobacco awareness programmes, media campaigns, and national communication strategies in accordance with its strategic priorities.
Training
The service works collaboratively with the Pacific tobacco control sector to deliver training to support the workforce to be more responsive, proactive and to advocate for smokefree environments for all Pacific peoples.
